Follow any EV in Canada and get everything that changes about it.

EVD2.ca tracks every electric vehicle available or coming to Canada. News, government data, pricing, incentives, recalls, charger reward programs: pulled together so you can actually make sense of the Canadian EV landscape.

Who built it.

Cree par: a one-person operation, working out of Toronto.

Colin builds tools that make Canadian public information easier to find and use. AI-powered municipal services, open data platforms, and now electric vehicle tracking.

EVD2 grew out of his own frustration researching EVs for a personal purchase, and a hunch that other Canadians were running into the same problem.

What it does.

One place to check when you are researching EVs in Canada.

EVD2 monitors Canadian EV news, government databases, and manufacturer announcements automatically. Every vehicle gets its own profile page with specs, Canadian pricing, related news, and links to official sources.

You can follow specific vehicles and get updates when something changes: a price drop, a new government incentive, a recall, a Canadian launch date. The goal is to be the one place you need to check.

We cover the full range: battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), and fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs). That includes established manufacturers and the Chinese EVs now entering Canada under the 6.1% tariff framework.

How it is built.

Next.js, MySQL, Redis, BullMQ. Deployed on a VPS.

EVD2 is built with Next.js, React, MySQL, and Redis. Article ingestion runs as a separate worker service using BullMQ. The whole thing is designed for VPS deployment with no cloud vendor lock-in.

When AI-generated summaries are available, they are clearly labelled and powered by Anthropic's Claude. AI content is always marked. We never store full article text. We link to the original source.

Sibling project

EVD2 is an Idea Warehouse project.

Idea Warehouse is a Canadian studio that builds practical tools to make public information more useful. Other projects include AI-powered municipal services and open data platforms.

Avis de non-responsabilite

EVD2.ca is an independent project. Vehicle specs, pricing, and incentive details come from public sources and may not always be current. Always check with the manufacturer or the relevant government program before making a purchase decision.

EVD2 has no affiliation with any vehicle manufacturer, dealership, or government agency. Vehicle images come from manufacturer press kits and Wikimedia Commons under editorial use and Creative Commons licenses.
